So, what is Bookazoid today?

At its core, Bookazoid is the production-proven engine behind a large PMS operation — now being made universally accessible, configurable, and ready to adapt to different business models.

We started by extracting the most critical, battle-tested components from the parent system and turning them into a flexible foundation for other operators.

The core fundamentals:

  1. Unlimited geography & true multi-currency
    Run properties anywhere in the world. Set base rates, taxes, and transactions in different currencies — without hacks or conversions leaking into your numbers.
  2. Highly flexible taxes & policies
    Define surcharges as percentages or flat fees (in any currency), additive or compound, calculated per night or per guest. Complex local rules are first-class citizens, not edge cases.
  3. Full auditability by design
    Bookazoid maintains two parallel logs:
    • a Compliance Log (internal, complete, CRUD-oriented)
    • a Business Log (visible, human-readable, and ops-friendly)
    Every action is traceable. Always.
  4. Immutability wherever money is involved
    Taxes, policies, and rates are snapshotted at the moment they apply. No silent recalculations. No retroactive surprises. Financial history stays intact.

Current feature set (almost there)

We’re honest about where the product stands. The backend is solid; the frontend is functional but still evolving. These areas are already very close to production:

  1. Bulletproof availability checks
  2. Visual timeline for booking creation and management — including advanced operations like price overrides, mid-stay booking splits, or waiving a tax for a guest
  3. iCal integration (fully working, with room for customization)
  4. Guest mini-CRM for profiling and light marketing
  5. Invoicing
  6. Currency management (live feeds and manual overrides)
  7. Snapshots everywhere — taxes, policies, age rules, and exchange rates
  8. Property management — single-unit and multi-unit properties, room types, and individual units

What needs more love

Some parts are structurally in place but still need refinement and UX work:
